Today I’m also contributing On Remodelaholic! You can catch the tutorial for the ceiling light fixture from my One Room Challenge bedroom makeover by clicking this link-> Decorative Punched Metal Light Shade, Ugly Existing Light Fixture Cover Up! (It’ll open up in a new window so you can finish checking out the #Thriftscorethursday goodness first!)

Welcome Friends!

We are welcoming back the ultra fabulous Shavonda of SG Style (@sgardnerstyle on instagram!) this week! She is basically a style icon for me, so definitely check her out if you haven’t yet!

The Features:

Chelsea (and Cate!) of Style Mutt Home are fabulous thrifters. I droo over their finds and I drool harder when they make them over!

It’s so fluffy!!! I mean, does texture get any better than this!?

And this light fixture will haunt my dreams. It’s so beautiful. I need thrifty light fixture luck!

My Find:

I’m feeling quite lucky with these chairs! The post was just 5 hours old when I contacted the seller, but they were willing to negotiate to the price I requested. Which was pretty dirt cheap for Hampton Roads Craigslist! They’re actually really heavy. Not crappy painted hollow aluminum chairs here like I was anticipating.

In fact, they’ve just got a crappy coat of spray paint on them, which will be a pain in the butt to remove but they’re going to look fabulous with my dining room table from way back when (I don’t think I’ve ever even talked about it, but I will soon!).

what not to do when spray painting furniture

Did you see the news? #ThriftScoreThursday is expanding! You can now tag your thrift finds with #dearTST to get advice on what to do with your find from the #ThriftScoreThursday hosts. About once a month or so we will feature finds from the #dearTST feed and give our ideas for sprucing them up!

But Wait! There’s More! Check out the other #ThriftScoreThursday Hosts to read up on their finds and to see if you’ve been featured for using the #ThriftScoreThursday hashtag!

Want To Join In? Here’s The Rules!

  • We want you to participate! Hit up your local thrift stores, craigslist, yard sales, estate sales, side of the road, anything! Thrifty doesn’t necessarily mean from a thrift store. We want to see your good deals, wacky finds and treasures.
  • Don’t feel like you need to save those finds for Thursdays! Yes, features are shared on our blogs and Instagram on Thursdays, but we’re all checking in on (and using!) the hashtag all week long. So, when you see/find it, feel free to share it!
  • Each week, Trisha from Black and White Obsession, Cassie from Primitive and Proper, Brynne from The Gathered Home, Myself (For My Love Of) and occassionally a guest co-host will pick a favorite thrift score or two to feature! So please note that by linking up with #thriftscorethursday, you are giving us permission to share your finds via social media or on our blogs.
  • Please remember that we can only share love for photos shared on public accounts. If your profile is private, we can’t see your finds.

Interested in hosting with us for a week? Want to see your face on this fabulous little graphic? You know you want to, it’s so much fun! Shoot me an email, and we’ll get you coordinated to guest host!

  1. So much good stuff again. Love the chandelier and the chairs.

  2. Ooooh! Love those chairs! Always feels good to find those brand new Craigslists posts. Even better when they negotiate!

  3. Love those chairs and can’t wait to see what you do with them. Great TST finds this week…I’d buy that light fixture in a heartbeat.

  4. Those chairs are soooo cool, so glad they’re the heavy kind. With winds in our area, more often than not our inexpensive plastic ones end up on the other side of our yard. Now, I’m on the hunt for something better!

  5. Those chairs are super fun! What color are you planning on going with? I can’t wait to see!

  6. Thanks so much for sharing my light fixture! The best part of finding it was purchasing it from the owner – a sweet old lady who was thinking about turning it into an outdoor DIY thing.
Those chairs you found are awesome! And I’m 99% positive we had those tray tables in the house growing up!

    • That’s one of the reasons I love craigslist (and Facebook groups and yard sales, you get the picture) because a lot of times the seller is a wonderful person with a story. Thanks for sharing yours!
